Anti-Ragging Orientation in FY Induction Program

University Department of Information & Communication Technology had organized the Orientation program on Anti-Ragginng on 17/08/2023 to 18/08/2023 for First year students.

The program commenced with first day, the students have taken pledge as follows “I promise that I will not indulge in Ragging or any form of violent behaviour. Neither will I tolerate being ragged or subjected to violence. I understand that if I am accused of Ragging, the responsibility is on me to prove that I am not guilty”.

Faculty members addressed the student and spoke about the consequences of ragging, the legal implications.

The University Department of Information and Communication Technology (UDICT) recently organized an orientation program focused on addressing the issue of ragging. This anti-ragging orientation took place from August 17th to August 18th, 2023, and was specifically targeted at the incoming UDICT first year students of division 1-5 for the academic year 2023-2024.

The program commenced on its first day with a significant event: the students collectively took a solemn pledge that reads, "I commit to refraining from participating in any form of ragging or violent behavior. Similarly, I will not accept any form of ragging or violence directed towards me. I am aware that if I am accused of engaging in ragging, the burden of proof lies upon me to demonstrate my innocence".

Faculty members of UDICT delivered talks during the program, discussing the repercussions of ragging and the legal ramifications associated with it. To conclude the first day orientation, students participated in an extempore event where they expressed their perspectives on various predetermined topics

The conclusion of the second day of the Orientation program featured a series of engaging activities, including an Essay Writing competition, a Slogan creation challenge, and a Logo design contest. These activities took place in the Einstein Hall and attracted the participation of around 147 students. The students not only actively took part in these events but also greatly appreciated the experience. Here are a few photographs capturing moments from these diverse activities:
