Two days workshop on Face Recognition using Python

The University Department of Information and Communication Technology(UDICT) organized two days workshop on Face Recognition using Python for all the students and Faculty of MGM University and other colleges in Aurangabad . In the recent years there is an increasing interest among the Artificial Intelligence researchers in developing systems based on Biometrics, with a high focus on Face Recognition.

These workshop aimed to help the students learning and understanding foundation of Face Recognition ,latest trends in Machine Learning ,and to develop applications and to understand the scope of research in Face Recognition. In this workshop, we present the concept of face recognition in the medical research, Anthropological research and in Artificial Intelligence research with superfast computational algorithms.

We list the various approaches for Face recognition and introduce some key face recognition algorithms and related mathematical models. We conduct hands-on implementation of Face Recognition. Anyone who appreciates programming can do the hands with Python on and get an understanding of the topic. They can just connect to Google Co-laboratory or use Anaconda Spyder Integrated Development Environment and do that hands-on session.

Inaugural Session:-

The workshop started at 09.30 am, Dr. Sharvari Tamane, HOD of UDICT and Coordinator of the workshop gave brief introduction about the speaker and the objectives of the workshop.

Keynote Address: Dr. Vilas Sapkal

The speaker of the webinar, Dr Xavier Chelladurai ,Professor ,Department of Computer Science and Engineering ,School of Engineeringand Technology,CHRIST (Deemed to be University),Banglore delivered an expert talk on “How to use python algorithms for face recognition.”. He has given detailed explanation about Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, data science and how it is changing the current technology landscape with some real time applications. A brilliant explanation was given by Dr. Xavier Chelladurai to throw some light on the subject.

Outcomes of this event are :

  • Facial recognition systems can have near-perfect accuracy.
  • Automation of identification.
  • The face recognition using Python, break the task of identifying the face into thousands of smaller, bite-sized tasks, each of which is easy to face Recognition Python is the latest trend .
  • Machine Learning techniques.
