A 10-day Short Term Training Programme (STTP) on "Swift Programming and iOS App Development



UDICT Department of MGM University organised the Short Term Training Programme (STTP) on "Swift Programming and iOS App Development on 1st January 2024

The goal of the STTP was to introduce students to the burgeoning realm of iOS App Development. The surge in Apple product users has created a high demand for iOS developers, surpassing the current skilled workforce. The STTP aimed to familiarize students with diverse career prospects such as Mobile Software Engineer, iOS App Developer, Mobile Architect, Senior iOS Engineer, iOS Architect, and Lead iOS Developer.



The training program was inaugurated with the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Vilas Sapkal, Registrar Dr. Ashish Gadekar, Heads of Institutes and Departments, alongside students and faculty from diverse institutes. Dr. Minakshi Rajput extended a warm welcome on behalf of UDICT. Dr. Sharvari Tamane, the Head of UDICT and the STTP's Convener, outlined the program's importance, emphasizing the significance of iOS development.

Dr. Gadekar highlighted the importance of such programs in fostering software development skills. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vilas Sapkal stressed the role of student-led software development startups in elevating India's innovation index. He encouraged innovative app ideas, patents, and copyrights, noting the need for rapid learning due to technology's fast-paced growth. He envisioned MGM University as a future software development hub through such training.

Ms. Priyanka Deshmukh from JNEC extended the vote of thanks. The technical sessions were led by Apple-certified trainers, Dr. Minakshi Rajput and Ms. Priyanka Deshmukh, both faculty members of MGM University. Participants gained insights into Swift programming and hands-on experience in iOS app development, culminating in the creation of their own multi-screen iOS apps.
