The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of UDICT organized a transformative seven-day residential camp from February 21st to 27th, 2024, at Gandheli campus.
The camp saw active participation from 5 girls, 9 boys, and 5 teachers. Throughout the week, various engaging
activities were conducted, including initiatives like making the campus
plastic-free, a cleanliness rally, stone pitching, and a peaceful walk.
Participants also enjoyed activities like campfires and "Dam-she-raaz,"
along with constructing a weir/low dam on a river. Educational visits
were organized to MGM Ketchup Manufacturing Plant, MGM Dairy
Plant, Horticulture unit, Silk Production Plant, and Poultry Farm unit.
Moreover, there were informative sessions on removing invasive species,
conflict management, stress management, healthy habits, and positive
psychology. Expert speakers such as Dr. John Chelladurai, Dr. Mahesh
Markad, Dr. Jagdish Tekale, Dr. Swati Shiradkar, and Dr. Pratibha
Mehetre shared their insights. Additionally, daily early morning yoga
sessions conducted by Dr. Uttam Kalvane added a rejuvenating touch to
the camp, fostering holistic growth among the participants.
