The World Wide Web day was celebrated in MGM University, on 1st August 2024, the event was hosted by University Department of Information and Communication Technology.
August 1st is celebrated as World Wide Web Day, a celebration of the technology that transformed communication and information exchange throughout the world. It draws attention to the web's enormous influence on stimulating innovation, bringing people together, and changing how we access and share knowledge on the internet.
Tim Berners-Lee, a British scientist, invented the World Wide Web (WWW) in 1989, while working at CERN. The Web was originally conceived and developed to meet the demand for automated information-sharing between scientists in universities and institutes around the world. Dr. Manesh B. Kokare, Director of Shri Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering and Technology, Vishnupuri Nanded was invited as a chief guest for WWW day celebrations. He delivered an expert talk on the topic of Challenges and Research Opportunities in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Rukmini auditorium at MGM University.
In the beginning Head of department UDICT, Prof. Dr. Sharvari Tamane presented a thorough presentation on introduction, history, significance, interesting facts, benefits, impact and future of World Wide Web day.
The Honorable Vice chancellor of MGM University Prof. Dr. Vilas Sapkal and honorable registrar of MGM University Dr. Ashish Gadekar presided the event. The registrar MGM University in his address guided students on the history and importance of Internet and associated technologies. Honorable Vice Chancellor MGM University Prof. Dr. Vilas Sapkal motivated and guided students for being leaders of technological development.
Dr. Manesh B. Kokare in his expert talk shared his knowledge and experiences in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning. He discussed the current AIML technologies in practices and challenges; He explained how AIML can contribute, in the field of health care, education retail, security and law in future.
Mr. Bharat Chaudhari coordinated the event. Mr. A. M. Mohsin did the anchoring of the event and proposed vote of thanks.
